“ARE WE REALLY THE HELPERS?”

Sometimes women get overwhelmed by the multi-tasks, multi-caps, and multi-management that comes with marriage. It sometimes seems like a thankless job, especially at those times when the job of Helper morphs into ‘Motivator’ or ‘Officer-in-charge’.

At times like that, it is best to focus on the design.

“Except a kernel of corn falls to the ground and dies, it yet abides alone”. No mango fruit becomes a great tree by sitting pretty in the fridge. It must be consumed, its seed spat out and cast into the ground. It must decompose and for all intents and purposes, rot and die before it regenerates. Then, it can become a great tree, even a forest. But, it has to die first.

Marriage is a call to spiritual perfection through physical and emotional sacrifice. We give, we labor, we serve, we pour out… to hear HIM (not your husband nor children) say “Well done”.

So wives, let us not despise the roles we have been given. You are a hand-lifter, an enabler, and a facilitator to help make another great. It is in the design. Trust in the Great Designer’s vision and plan: “I will make [man] a help FIT for him”. You are God’s solution to your husband’s shortcomings.

Lean on Him and let Him carry you. Discover what God can do with ‘a life laid down’. You are a weapon of mass destruction of darkness when you let your Maker wield you as a tool in the shaping of your family.

Yield and see!
